eed some new surfing gear? Sure you do. This is Miami, the whole fucking city is a beach. Watersports equipment is as much a necessity in Miami as food and clothing is anywhere else in the world. That being said, it would be impossible for you not to go to the Adrenalina Extreme Store at the Miami International Mall.

This is the place for everything for anything related to extreme watersports. How can you be sure that they're really serious about surfing? They've got their own Flowrider. The enormous machine, enclosed in a glass case, shoots a constant flow of water creating a perpetual neverending wave. That's right; you can surf right in the mall! In a city that's entirely surrounded by water! How's that for hardcore?

After you've taken your fill of artificial thrills (is it still "extreme" if you're battling a manmade machine rather than an actual wave?) and epically wiped out a few times to the amusement of voyeuristic passerbys, you can do a bit of actual shopping. The store's got equipment and accessories for just about every sport you can think of, as long as it's one that has been designated as "extreme": wakeboarding, surfing, kitesurfing, skateboarding, skimboarding, mountain biking, paintball, BMX and FMX. Even I think a few of those might be made up.

This place is impressive. In case the Flowrider Machine didn't tip you off, how about the fact that the whole store is designed to look like a skate park? It could be really easy to forget you're even in a store until you see the rows upon rows of merchandise. The list of labels that the store carries reads like a who's who of skater culture, brands like Volcom, Dakine, DC Shoes, Oakley, Element,Gator Boards, Hoffman Bikes, Paul Frank, O'Neill, No Fear, Liquid Force, Zoo York, and Quiksilver. And that's only a small selection of what they've got to offer.

Of course, if you're afraid of any activity that could potentially kill or maim you, you probably won't be able to find anything worth buying here. But if you're the type that likes to risk life and limb for the purposes of a good thrill (or to impress the fairer sex), Adrenalina should be your first and last stop. - R.T.
