ilken lock connoisseur Gilbert Roqueiro is now at the service of Miami socialites citywide. Gilbert brings his training and experience in Buenos Aires and Paris to the sunny southern state. He arrives with the hope his celebrity stylings abroad will attract the spotlight hungry Miami set. With his reasonable prices, impressive international resume, and a brand new state-of-the-art salon, rounding up a devout clientele should be as easy as pie.
The patent product at Salon Gilbert is their blow dry. Do you remember when a wash and blow dry came included with a haircut? The stylists at Gilbert pride themselves so much on their “special” blow drying super skills that they charge separately for it. A cut is $40 and a dry is $35 and up. Gilbert does, as the menu boldly states, offer a set fee of $60 for both cut and dry, but the prices are liable to go up if your hair proves to be unruly. If you get a cut at Gilbert, will you let me know how it goes? I’m curious to see if it’s really worth all the trouble. –J.T.
