Today in Miami: Average White Band and War Reawaken the 70's but not Michael Jackson
Last Updated:June 30,2009 09:44:20 am
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Michael Jackson is dead (have you heard???). His passing may trigger all sorts of emotional responses in the music scene but what it won't do is kill it. In fact, I predict it might even spark a revival of the genre to which he originally belonged: soul. Considering that both Average White Band and War are slated to funkify the evening tonight with old hits like Low Rider (which shockingly came out before Dazed and Confused), and Why Can't we be Friends, my prediction may not be all that prescient. Nonetheless, I do expect a cover of ABC, or Ben, or something along those lines. Enjoy your 70's revival tonight at Hard Rock Live (Tue. Jun. 30). - E.H
