    Okay, so it's the day before Art Basel unofficially kicks of its eighth year and like the day before Christmas Eve, things around town seem to be on hold. Having said that, we are in Miami and I'll be damned if the city ever leaves us completely bereft of anything to do. Enter 311. This Nebraskan-based quintet is a numerical mélange of funk rock, Hasidic reggae, and 80s Brit ska and no, they have nothing to do with Gogol Bordello. Expect post-show hacky-sacking and pre-show beer-gunning. Don't expect to hear the next day, which is okay since Art Basel mostly requires the use of your eyes. 311 plays Bayfront Park Amphitheatre tonight (Tuesday, December 1). But on the less punk and more funk side, kitschy, elusive design shop/toystore, Friends With You, is opening its flagship boutique today. A self-proclaimed "portal into a wonderful world of happiness," I can't promise that the new artsy shop will replace the need for mescal or marijuana but it might proffer up a smile or two.     Speaking of openings...GastroPod, Miami's first upscale mobile eatery, opens today because it's the artist not the art-lover who is committed to starvation. Just in time for Art Basel, owner and chef Jeremiah has outfitted his 1962 Airstream with all the modern capabilities of a sleek industrial kitchen and rolled it into the heart of Wynwood. More
