Those with a sweet tooth can indulge in a night of desserts by Emeril, the spunky Italian chef loved by all. Emeril will be serving up some of his signature desserts, such as white chocolate bananas Foster bread pudding, Mississippi mud pie with peanut butter ganache and chicory coffee crème brûlée. If that isn’t enough for you hedonists, take pleasure in knowing that Perrier-Jouët Champagne will be flowing all night long.
Some other notable events include a seminar on the history of Tequila (expect debauchery), a raw bar featuring plenty of sushi, sashimi and ceviche, a variety of children’s cooking events with celebrity chefs, and enough wine tastings to satisfy even the most haughty connoisseurs. If grape wine doesn’t do it for you, consider attending the Sake seminar, where you can turn Japanese and maybe engage in a sake bomb or twelve? Further still, if you crave something with higher alcohol content, the Grand Marnier tasting event may be right for you. After being given a history of the luxury liqueur, you’ll surely be allowed to taste a flight of their finest. Plus, it’s made from oranges so there has to be some vitamin C in there, right? Right?
Keep in mind that tickets range from $35 on the low end (these are primarily for children-centric events) to $500 on the high-end. Needless to say, this upper-crust attraction means you’ll have to dole out some serious dollars in order to whet your whistle. Then again, how often do you have the chance to eat meals prepared by those celeb chefs you adore and possibly get a bit tipsy with them too? That alone is definitely worth the price of admission. Be sure to dress your best and prepare yourself for a variety of snooty conversations and plenty of wine-swishing. It’s not everyday that you can pay $150 to spend a few hours in the presence of Rachael Ray or Jamie Oliver, so be sure to take advantage of this rare opportunity while you can. –P.B.
