The interior, sadly, doesn’t rank as impressive. Chocolate-hued booths, white linens and long, simple bar pale in comparison. The interior is an attractive space, don’t get me wrong, but that garden is a tough act to follow. Try to reserve a spot outside if you can.
The vibe of Vita is welcoming. The entire staff got an overhaul when the place changed hands. It may not have been thought possible but the new crew is even more in tune then the last. Service is friendly, knowledgeable and unassuming – always there, but almost invisibly. The DJ booth is still in the corner and comes alive around 10pm on weekends.
Vita isn’t the kind of place that people attend for the music though. Locals, and to some extent, tourists, come for the food. French chef, Fredrico, and Sardinian chef, Christophe, serve a condensed menu of jumbled French/Italian/Mediterranean cuisine with decent results.
