on't be fooled by Tap Tap's location on fifth Avenue - while it rubs shoulders with more exclusive and expensive South Beach restaurants, dining here won't leave you penniless.
A Haitian restaurant, Tap Tap features delicious delicacies from the tiny country and neighboring islands. Refreshing starters like avocado and tomato salad or mango and watercress salad will only wet your whistle for the homemade island delicacies to follow: mild and spicy fried Haitian pork-bits or shrimp in spicy creole sauce.
At $10 each and made with fresh mint and raw cane sugar, a refreshing mojito might be just what you need to compliment the warm spice of your meal. -L.D
