abio Granato (no, not that Fabio) and Vottorio Assaf have decided to expand their beloved Serafina restaurant chain beyond the New York Skyline. The team will be taking Serafina to Miami. The Florida location will open up shop in the upcoming W South Beach Hotel when construction completes on that building in mid-2009. The New York chain serves up Italian fair with each location specializing in a specific aspect (one is a pizza joint, one is a grill, etc.), and all of the restaurants sharing certain key signature dishes. At the moment it’s unclear what the new location will adopt as a house specialty. It will most likely be a culmination of the best Items off of all NY menus or maybe even a seafood restaurant given the location. Only time will tell. The only thing that is known for sure is that the restaurant will immediately become a vital part of the Miami scene. Granato and Assaf know what they’re doing, and they will not let Flordia foodies down. -P.B.
