After a decade in the restaurant business, Gerry Quinn opened his second culinary venture with the eponymously titled Quinn - a seafood restaurant that marries his expertise in fine dining with a passion for all things from the sea.

His first venture, A Fish Called Avalon, received accolades from foodies and locals alike, but with Quinn, diners are can expect some succulent surprises for the palate such as the signature Bam! Bam! Shrimp - the crustaceans are marinated in a palm sugar and 14-spice rub and served with a mint sauce. The chilled shellfish is equally delectable with an assortment of lobster, shrimp and oysters on the half shell.

Situated in the Park Central Art Deco hotel, Quinn's menu is an excellent complement to the bright lights and exotic nightlife of Miami Beach.

I wouldn't recommend this place at all. Visited last week (Feb 2008) with my 12 and 14 year old kids and husband. We were seated promptly but then shortly after a group of 135 AT&T employees showed up by greyhound bus for a party. The restaurant was clearly overwhelmed and unable to handle this size group. We were completely ignored. Took us 2 1/2 hours for dinner and when we finally got our check, they overcharged us by $60 for a bottle of wine we never ordered. When we asked for an adjustment, that was another 30 minute wait. When we complained to the manager about the poor service, we got arrogance and nothing more. He never offered to adjust our bill for the inconvenience - he replied that the delay was his fault and that he was sorry. Really wouldn't recommend this restaurant at all. Overpriced and really poor service."

I was the destination mgr for a major entertainment company from 1989 to 1997. Gerry was at Fish called Avalon. During that period I brought some 1500 to 2000 diners to his Restaurant. Never ever did I receive one complant from a client! When he opened Quinn's I knew it would be more of the same. I now live Nashville,TN and travel to Miami twice a year and make a beeline to Quinn's. Gerry is the best!
