Pei Wei does manage to pack in some fizzy, cheap-champagne charm, particularly assisted by the fact that one can get full off food and a little tipsy as well, with tip included for under $20. Find pleasure in the simple fact that those suckers at P.F. Chang’s are getting ripped off. –J.T. |

Cute, and service-able... but you can do better at other similar type restaurants.

The first two times I ate at Pei Wei’s were disappointing; under-seasoned and poorly executed food. I remained hopeful because, as an ex-waiter, I know what a disaster openings can be, and the food at other similar-type restaurants rock. My wife and I have returned two more times. The dishes are much improved. There are now some real standouts on the menu and I suspect Pei Wei will improve with time.
