Oh,
Mokai. You’ve been one of the Miami staples for a few years now, keeping the pretty, chic, and rich regulars happy, and angering the plebes that are left waiting in line. Every club has it, no one’s blaming you, but both your lovers and haters are more than ready to see what’s been done to your interior.
In the past,
Mokai’s harsh reviews revolved around the tiny dance floor, cramped interior, and people loosing their drunk friends quickly within the crowds. Then again, if a place is cramped and crowded, that usually means a successful night… and if you’re loosing your drunk friends, that’s really not the venue’s fault. The
Mokai team has revamped the space by opening up the walkways and adding a grand showcase bar to make drink serving a little quicker and smoother. They’ve also replaced the chrome tables and leather sofas in for cherry-red sofas, pink tables, slick black walls, and whimsically designed chandeliers that keep the place dimly lit.
Mokai is best know for hosting celebs like
Jamie Lynn Sigler,
Pharrell Williams, and
Lindsay Lohan… then again,
Lohan will likely go anywhere that’s selling the sauce… but between the small space and pricy bottle service, it’s no shock that only A-B-listers are allowed in. In the event you event you ever do get in, make sure you dress your best. They also request that 'sexy people' apply for a reservation, but these ‘sexy’ people better be able to pay the $600 table minimum for bottle service.
