  • Maison d'Azur

    Review by Jennifer Toole
The Maison d’Azur is a fresh breath of air from the French Riviera within The Angler’s Boutique Resort. Owned and operated by New York restaurant veterans Stephan Fortier and Tove Nord (Pazza Notte, Loft), the place exudes refined tastes and an aura of success.

It seems as if they were trying to bring the inside out on the plush patio that is Maison’s focus. Private “rooms” are arranged artfully amongst enough foliage to conjure a rainforest floor out there. It’s a romantic and fairly luxurious way to dine. The patio is the way to go but don’t stress if our infamous sunny climate takes a day off. The interior dining room is fitted with Baroque detailing, wood floors and arches galore. Each table setting is complete with the romantic touch of a candle and a rose. Valentine’s Day would not be lost on this lovely eatery.

The menu is authentic Parisian bistro style, which is always a crowd pleaser, mixed with Mediterranean style seafood. The fish choices are fresh and unheard of in South Florida. They are flown in special for d’Azur which is why they go for the price they do. Executive Chef Gwenael Le Pape does caviar and shellfish like you’ve never tasted before.
With the airy setting and the sumptuous seafood it would be tough to have a bad time at Maison d’Azur. As long as you’ve got the dough, that is. –J.T.
