f you're looking for authentic Cuban cuisine at about half the price, you might do better to dine at one of the simpler places around the corner from Larios on the Beach although I've heard they do a mean black beans n' rice. A relaxing and romantic atmosphere, Larios serves up big portions of mediocre Cuban fare.
Formerly owned by Cuban-born songstress Gloria Estefan and her husband Emilio (like, what restaurants in Miami haven't they co-owned?) it's a superb place to bring anyone unfamiliar with Cuban cuisine or culture. A welcome setting to young and old alike, you'll find the restaurant's Cuban-themed walls quite crammed if you happen to stop by on the weekend. Standard Cuban dishes dot the menu and unless you crave the novelty of sitting in a restaurant formerly owned by Gloria, there really isn't much that makes Larios stand out from other, less expensive Cuban eateries.
A great outdoor dining experience, you might feel you paid mostly for the view and not authentic Cuban fare.
