oley has set up residence at the Hotel Astor, in the heart of South Beach. Now, before you get too excited you should know that spelling isn’t a typo and Angelina Jolie will absolutely not be appearing at the hotel. Still reading? If so, you should know that this Joley is the new restaurant that’s taken over the old Johnny V spot on the ground floor of the hotel, and one that aims to bring some much-needed class and deliciousness to Miami.

The 3,000 square foot space, designed by Nicky Bernstein (Michy’s), has been reworked, re-modeled, and released to the masses as a black and white space with silver accents. The space is a 200-capacity plus courtyard restaurant with the sexy visuals of a film noir. You’ll practically expect to see a femme fatal blowing suggestive smoke rings at you from the bar and on a lucky night, that just might happen.

Chef John Suley, from the original Café Joley of Boca Raton, presides over the menu. The man has worked with celebrity chefs Daniel Boulud and Gordon Ramsey, so he knows his way around the kitchen. Appetizers like caramelized scallops in brown butter, crispy prawns, or roasted chestnut soup should wet your appetite for the main dishes such as lamb four ways with cumin mint jus or braised short ribs with truffled grits.
