ining in paradise- now that’s something we all want to do (without the snake of course). Now you can come as close to paradise as you’ve ever seen at Grass (fig leaf attire is strongly discouraged). This restaurant creates a relaxed, outdoors feel with a carpet of grass framing the dining room, bonsai plants, and climbing vines.
A relaxing decor is illustrated by plush white sofas that line the perimeter of the space. Sporadic lamps complement the bar. Just be sure you don’t stare too hard and become hypnotized (lay off that blue stuff while you're at it)- it’s completely illuminated by a collection of apothecary jars with flowers inside.
Executive chef Michael Jacobs is all about natural flavors. You won’t find anything doused in sauce or overpowered by spices. The cuisine is a combination of American and Asian ingredients, such as crispy chicken thighs, which are made with homemade ancho chile, sambal, and roasted garlic. The ingredients are quite inventive; the smoked beef rib-eye combines lavender honey and applewood smoked bacon ($32).
Guests can dine outside in a gazebo-like hut that sets the mood for party time (the best reveling is done in the great outdoors). The outdoor patio resembles a fancy version of a Mexican resort, complete with a shaggy grass-covered roof.
