Lucky for them, there's no comma after "China" in this restaurant's name (can you imagine the heat, the energy costs, and the food waste?). A Manhattan offshoot, South Beach's China Grill serves art Asian fusion in a breathtakingly modern room and on an airy patio. Expect the odd celebrity sighting, out-of-towners, and a lot of limestone. China Grill has a multi-level dining platform, with imported Egyptian limestone floors mixed with colored wood floors. The walls are gold leafed, and the original light fixtures cast just enough light to make it sparkle. The outdoor patio is also great for having a meal outside-if I lived in Miami, I’d never go inside ever again. And if you like duck (and dammit who doesn’t) they offer it up in two different ways: pan seared breast and confit of leg with carmelized asian fruit salsa and lychee black vinegar reduction. Anytime you can choose between duck dishes, I’m a happy man.
