here's an inherent sadness to Midwestern restaurants named after exotic cities. They seem like remnants of unrealized dreams, cast off and traded in for booths and other people's pictures. Conversely, airport restaurants named after foreign locals have a hopefulness or, for some, nostalgia. For everyone, they have food. Café Barcelona, an Embassy Suites restaurant offers comfort food for the transient. Booths, carpeting, and a familiar menu soothe the out-of-town soul. It's not Barcelona, but it is a café (huh?).
