ertigo-free imbibers and vista lovers flock to Miami rooftops throughout the year. There is no shortage of on-high lounges to choose from, but the market is far from saturated. These days, neoteric and refitted hotels have an obligation to offer a raised terrace. That's not a bad thing. Care of the Mayfair Hotel, a (re-)debut has thrown its hat back into the ring. Cabana One has just opened.

Affixed to but housed without the Mayfair, Cabana One retaina the modern stateliness of its parent. Although, don't expect a stodgy space. At 7,000 square feet, it has a decent breadth which its tone shares. The place packs a capacity of about 300, but there will still be the inevitable rush as this place takes the transitory it-spot throne. This is a high-end place and it's located in Miami, so dress to impress. Specifically, dress to impress the doorman since he'll decide whether you can dance high above the beach, or sit at home listening to "Mister Lonely" on repeat.

The Biscayne Bay view is inherently gorgeous, but Cabana One couples it with playfulness, care of flirtatious curtains, a roster of DJs, and Nintendo Wii consoles in each of the eight cabanas. Oh, did we forget to mention the cabanas? Allowing for a private party that is quintessentially South Beach, each comes equipped with a flat screen television (with the deluxe sports package), the aforementioned Wii and X-Box, and personal fridges. Grab a plate from the full raw bar or some of the American pub-ish fare (Burgers, Chicken Wings, Coconut Shrimp) and relax in your own personal haven.
Expect a lounge atmosphere, poolside seating, a long bar, and, perhaps, cabana boys and girls (in our dreams). Check it out on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday for some top DJs spinning a mix of house and techno or on Sundays for a day-long pool party complete with umbrella-sporting drinks. This is Florida at its finest.
