his modest eatery becomes packed around lunch time when those lucky enough to have received word of its delicious fare stop in for lunch or wait sad-eyed for a spot at one of the thirty tables. Whoever is behind its offerings (I suspect sorcery because I’ve heard the food is that good), Bali serves up piping hot food that is fresh, authentic and well, piping hot. Need I say more?
While much of the menu consists of sushi options (three rolls, soup and salad for under $10), traditional Indonesian fare does make its presence known with dishes like Soto Betawai, beef soup in milk broth made with ginger, soy sauce and lemon, topped with fresh tomatoes, potatoes, beattlenut chips, scallions and fried shallots. Ikan Pesmol, another dish native to the region but less complicated than the former is a pan-friend fish served with Indonesian spices. Spicy, sweet, crunchy, hot and spicy, it's no wonder this resto is always full of hungry customers.
