Calgary's getting a new homespun spot that marks the return of meatball maven Carmela Monna of former DinoRosa's fame. The lady made a name for herself serving up her meatball sandwiches at the old Macleod Trail haunt and now she's about to proffer up a whole lot more.
Introducing Giuseppe's Italian Deli and Market, set to inhabit two floors on 1st; the wholly redeveloped space will be a market, deli and more. Don't expect cold pepperoni slices here, Giuseppe's will feature a full wine bar, woodfired pizza oven and an espresso counter. This Mediterranean spot is welcome news in Cowtown, a city that is...ahem... more than one Italian fine foods shop away from being known as culturally diverse.
