A lot has happened since the film
Goldfinger was released in 1964: the world came to understand that a) women are not actually objects; b) Sean Connery, despite his 007 status, is not actually a good guy; and c) money does not actually grow on trees. But, as always, Calgary is a few drops short of a full oil canister and remains kind of backward in its thinking. Thus, the
Aston Martin, the British luxury car of James Bond Fame that runs from $100,000 up, has found a new home in Canada’s most unctuous city. Despite the 8350 jobs that have been lost at General Motors, Calgary is still making room for
Aston Martin; in fact, the brand-new 1.2 million dollar dealership, all set up to A.M specifications, that has enjoyed a soft opening since February, officially opens April 16th.
This oil tycoon’s toy store, now known as
The Distinctive Collection, predominantly focuses on
Aston Martin sales, but also peddles in such big names as Bentley, as well as a lesser known luxury car company from Sweden known as
Spyker. I guess everything is relative in this car world since compared to the upwards of $200,000 one will be dropping to purchase either a
Bentley or a
Spyker, an
Aston Martin is a steal. – E.H
