unk Rock is a relatively fickle genre. It's hard to obtain lasting success because once you gain some money and fame you lose the anger that got you there. But there are a few exceptions, most of which are bands that play a style of punk more influenced by ska and pop, two genres that are much brighter than punk. They may not be as exciting, but they allow for some longevity. Just ask Green Day or Rancid. Or ask Lagwagon. The Santa Barba group have been recording and performing on and off for 18 years, and have just released their latest EP I Think My Older Brother Used To Listen To Lagwagon (a fucking fantastic name for an album). Now's your chance to see them this Thursday at The Warehouse.
