Apparently Calgarians need more than just the prospect of finding oil and the annual stampede to keep them yee-hawing. Case in point: Yuk-yuks, that go-to joint for fabricated laughter and embarrassing antics, has expanded and made a not-so risky move from one depressing spot to another. Now Calgarians can attempt to escape recession-induced money losses by winning big at the Elbow River Casino and if, for some reason, the losses aren’t recovered and, in fact are redoubled, they can always drown their sorrows in the stand-up humour of someone who is probably more tortured than them. The new venue boasts 250 seats, which makes a lot more room to heckle. – E.H

Had to wait forever for a drink. The acts were ok, the management was rude. Conversely we went to Capone's last tuesday for their comedy night and it rocked. The venue is a little small, but the comedy kicked butt!
