It seems the evolution of the burger joint has taken a nod from more upscale eateries in order to appease the ever-increasing band of tourists, students, yuppies and those just looking to chow down on a tasty burger without having to sit on hard plastic seats a la McDonalds. When you walk inside Tommy Burger, a smiley-faced hostess greets you and shows you to your table. From there, you have the option of ordering from a variety of burgers with gourmet toppings and buns. Tasty sides include blue cheese poutine and beer-battered onion rings.

If you want to spend $15 for a mediocre burger and $6 for onion rings that aren't anything special other than they are stacked (wow!), then this is the place for you. Bathrooms were disgusting and service was meh.

Regarding Tommy Burger McLeod Tr Calgary: We started with a liter of Sangria, which arrived promptly but with a large chip in the top of the carafe and with a fruit fly buzzing about. The BBQ Blue burger was okay although the the blue cheeze was dry and sharp which overwhelmed any of the other flavors. The 'sourdough' buns appeared and tasted like plain old white bread; and not particularly fresh. The ambience is that of a sports bar or lunch joint for high school students with a multiplicity of LCD tvs tuned to various games and overly loud music. The service was fair but one is left with the impression that what was once a great idea (I'd been there several months ago) has been left on 'autopilot'. And it's drifting.

1 star for comfort and service. After asking for a burger not too overdone, I got one with consistency of sawdust. Sitting at the bar you can see into the kitchen, it's sad to see the burger "chefs" squashing the paties onto the grill. Even the most retarded cook knows this sqeezes out the juices, it doesn't speed up quality cooking time. Wild toppings, awsome fries, good service, comfy lounge wih lots of TV's, just stay from the burgers.

Service was good, fries were good, burgers sucked. Asked for burgers not too well done, they came out like hockey pucks. Wanted sourdough buns, they had no flavor. I ate mine because I was starving, my wife couldn't eat hers because it was so overdone. She didn't want another after that. The waitress took 10% off our bill, not the price of the burger sent back. If you like dry overcooked burgers with interesting toppings then this place is for you. P.S. Fatburgers rocks, cheaper too!
