After suffering water damage from a storm on June 5, Calgary's Tribune Restaurant was forced to close for repairs. Rain seeped in through the roof causing a large overhanging bulkhead to fall directly onto the bar. The downstairs area and dining room also sustained significant damage from the storm.

Fortunately, the space has now re-opened with a kitchen pushing full steam ahead to make up for lost time this summer. You can enjoy their same delicious menu, courtesy of chef Andrew Keen, and a well-oiled dining room overseen by new General Manager Francois Gaulin.

When the British think of newspapers, they sometimes think of food: "chips" (because you know how they hate the French). When Calgarians think of newspapers, they probably don't think of the Calgary Tribune (unless they're very, very old).

However, when they think of the Tribune, they must think of food: contemporary swank with fancy chips: "frites" (because we like the French). Tribune, housed in a historic site, offers double-Windsor-knot wearers pen bought meals in aesthetically impressive packages of amped up sumptuous standard fare.

The dinner menu features chicken with tarragon-citrus marinade (23.91), New York Steak ($39.71), or red deer chop ($54.23). I find it a bit strange that they list their prices with odd change at the end, but I guess those .71 cents eventually add up.

Got something to say. Don't hide behind your EMAIL. Give me a call to discuss like adults. To address this in a personal manner shows me that really it wasn't the experience that you are concerned about, rather the attack on someones personal integrity.

Give us a shout, I'd love to discuss this with you further.

Went in for an early Friday dinner. Server was extremely attentive, especially with our time constraint and offered assistance with food choice and wine. He directed us in an excellent selection for our main course. Appetizers were great and the overall experience was one that we will return to have again. Flavours in the food were well balanced: mussels and goat cheese souffle were fabulous, though the ahi tuna was a bit too rich (salty) and overpowered the flavour of the fish itself. The daily risotto was divine and we shared it with the bison porterhouse, which was nice, though they didn't master the difficulty of cooking a t-bone, but not too many have. I enjoyed the night, nonetheless, and am looking forward to returning again.

Poor showing on your part Andrew! Maybe if you were in the kitchen rather than socializing, you would be able to control what you are sending out. Bad bread, you should know better obviously you are just trying to make money and are not passionate about your food and the quality thereof. Maybe you should head across the street to Blink to see how it should be done.
