ocated just outside of Calgary this restaurant brings a touch of 4 star class to the countryside. The hip design and Executive Chef Raymond McGuire’s menu are just trendy enough to match the similarly regarded urban hot spots in Calgary. The spot was once a well-kept secret among locals, but ever since glowing reviews started appearing in syndicated newspapers around the country the popularity has taken off. The impressive menu combines gourmet cooking with family favorites making it an ideal meal spot for families with a refined palate. There was a time when reservations were not necessary, but that time has passed. Be sure to call ahead if you don’t want to eat in the janitorial closet. –P.B.

12 Reader Reviews | Outstanding venue to hold a party. We recently had a 150 member get together fully catered by the chef Raymond McGuire, and it was done beautifully and flawlessly. I guarantee many more parties booked by those who attended. A very worthwhile drive from Calgary. Job well done

It looks like the same person (owner?) is posting all these "positive" reviews. Seems like the same tone. Dh

I don't know what all the fuss is about. Some friends told us about this small town restaurant that was "better than anything in the city". So we tried it last week and were so dissapointed. I suppose for a small town, it's probably the best they have got, but we passed ten restaurants leaving the city that are consistantly far better than The Mission.
Like others have said, it probably a great place for the locals because they don't have anything else, but for anyone who is planning to drive any distance to this restaurant, don't bother. I guarantee you'll drive past a restaurant of equal value getting to this place.

A meal at the Mission Restaurant is a dining experience to be remembered for all the right reasons. The food is delicious. The menu offers great variety of choice---and mostly gourmet. The portions are certainly ample, so that my wife and I often share a meal and we are both full at meal's end. The service is wonderful; and always prompt. The prices are very fair and a good value. The decor and ambiance are upbeat, big-city, and delightful. Whether choosing to be seated in the sports lounge with its raised central eating area and well-placed wide-screen TVs, or in the formal dining room, quieter, and featuring a cozy stone fireplace, just indulge!

We to noticed the change in chefs but unfortunately our experience was not "outstanding" but rather sloppy and disappointing. Raymond has some mighty big shoes to fill and doesn't appear to be ready for the challenge. As of late Mission has joined the ranks of mediocrity along with the other restaurants in Three Hills. On a side note, in coversation with locals haven't I heard your name (Allan Ironside) mentioned as one of the owners of Mission?

First class all around and can see the Mission been located all over the country and also would be a great fit in a upscale resort like in Hawaii where I am from.
Good work to the hole staff at the MISSION

A new chef, Raymond McGuire C.C.C. joined the restaurant in April 2008 as the Executive Chef and the food and service is outstanding!! You need to visit their website, at http://www.missionrestaurant.ca for all the updates.

We are absolutely spoiled to have this caliber of eatery in our wonderful, little town. It is quickly becoming a destination restaurant for those who do not live here but come from miles (or should we say kilometers) around to experience the superb ambiance, service and , of course, cuisine. You will not be disappointed! The Mission Restaurant delivers a sophisticated and simply pleasing dining experience.
