ontrary to the restaurant’s threatening name, there are no bears in this den. Except the very hungry patrons eagerly devouring their meals.

The Bear’s Den is a fancy dining spot in the community of Bearspaw. The atmosphere is sophisticated, with elegant wood paneling and patterned carpeting. The chairs are like thrones for each guest, and the blazing fireplace sets a romantic mood for sweethearts.
Executive chef Alaa Daoud uses only the best cuts of AAAA graded Prime Steaks. Yes, that’s right. You read 4 A’s. It’s no typo, The Bear’s Den claims to be only one of four Canadian restaurants to serve the elusive 4 A’s. Personally, I think this is some type of self-proclamation, but give the steaks a try to see if they’re really one “A” better.
Their appetizers seem tasty enough and simple, such as shrimp cocktail ($15) or mussels ($14). In terms of their beef selection, they give you the chance to choose your cut, sides, sauce, and size. Other selections include the Roasted Rack of Lamb ($42) or Herb Crusted Roasted Seabass ($39). If you have room, The Bear’s desserts look especially appetizing, such as black forest molten chocolate cake, or apple and almond tarts.
If you have a few extra bucks (or a bag of money), it may be worth it to sample their selection of fine-quality menu items. Make sure to report back to me whether this 4 A Steak is really that good- or if it’s simply an urban steak myth.
