You should never put salt on fresh water fish. Would you like to be buried in a clown suit (assuming, of course, that you are not a clown)? Probably not. You're already eating the thing, don't insult it. On the other hand, salt water fish require a healthy dose of the white stuff. Drown it in sodium chloride; long life is for procrastinators. - S.T.
