f you’ve got a penchant for patios from the past, then you’ll adore the historical Cross House for a spot of afternoon tea with grandma. The patio is at the side of the palatial estate where diner’s can’t help but feel like they’ve been invited to lunch and an afternoon croquet or tennis match (think golf course green grass). The fancy French menu has received kudos all over Calgary for chef Paul Rogalski's exquisite epicurean feast. Of course, only the rich can afford to throw garden parties, and the same financial attitude is applied to the pricing of the menu (i.e. earning from a part time supermarket cashier job won’t cut it).

No, it's not a meeting spot for French communists, so leave your Trotsky shirt at home. This much-loved spot is situated in an old, brick house. Why go out to eat at someone else's home, you ask? Because you keep overcooking the Mr. Noodles until they're mushy and flaccid and that stale baguette you've been saving doesn't count as French cuisine. Bon soir, comrade.
