H  aving brought a kitchen staff from Toronto to Calgary in order to open this restaurant, you can tell that Koreana BBQ is one serious venture. Thirteen of the tables are outfitted with natural gas barbecues if you have the patience to cook your own meal. Exhaust fans are a considerate touch to suck away all the smoke and its smell. Don't underestimate the power of good air circulation. Want to have a Korean BBQ party? 6 private rooms, separated by sliding doors can be opened up to accommodate up to 50 people. Korean sushi is an interesting touch by the restaurant. But if you don't want to cook your own, or prefer old fashioned Japanese sushi, then order off of the menu. -C.S. |

My family and I LOVE Koreana BBQ. The staff are friendly and always courteous. The owner always comes to greet us at our table and often times brings us "on the house" complementary dishes. I don't know of any other restaurant in Calgary that does this. I have been to the other Korean restaurants in town and nothing compares.
My daughter wanted to go to Koreana for her 3rd birthday. We asked if we could bring our own cake and they had no problems with that. They also stored the cake until it was time and they also provided us with dishes. They even added a nice touch by putting birthday sparklers in the cake. My daughter loved it!!!
I have recommended this place to close family and friends and they also loved it.
I would recommend Koreana anyday!

Staff cannot understand a single thing when you order. The manager/owner equally inept. When the food comes and its not what you want the owner actually becomes stand-offish and forces the dish on to you. Saying "this is what you have ordered". I'm not new to Korean food and know my dishes quite well. Food was not that great, better at other Korean places up Macleod Tr.
My friend actally has seen the owner yell at a customer in the middle of the restaurant. She said what was sad was that the customer had little kids with them.
So food is nothing special, service sucks, and apparently management that is not there to serve you.
I would skip this place.

Koreana BBQ is a refreshing and delicious restaurant. The sushi is very fresh, and the atmosphere is nice and relaxing. I liked the prices of the meals and the size of the portions. The service is also really good. Overall it's one my husband and my favorite new restaurants.
