Romeo, Romeo...where for art though, Romeo?" asks Juliet from the balcony of her castle sports lounge.

"Hey," says Romeo, affecting an air of aloofness. "What's up, babe? Who's this Arty guy? I swear I didn't touch him."

    "...?" wonders Juliet. -D.M.

I've been going to Juliet's for about 12 years now. Recently the Management has been spending a lot of Money to upgrade. For the last few months I have made a point of not using there bathrooms. 1) It's so hot in the girls room it's almost unbearable 2) I have complained to Management a few times about the state of there bathrooms (toilet's are filthy, no soap, no water, no paper towel) 3) Just recently I had a customer get angry with me about the state of there bathroom (I don't work there!!). This is business that serves food, if the bathrooms don't get cleaned chances are the kitchen doesn't either. I also choose to not go for karaoke nights as there karaoke host bathes in cheap perfume, and plays favorites. If I was professional singer I wouldn't be taking part in the karaoke fun! Greatful Juliet's is not the only neighborhood pub. If they would just clean there dam bathrooms and maybe a better karaoke host, this place would be worth checking out. The only good thing I can say, Most of there staff have a great personality.

I've been to this location several times over the span of a couple months... While they have cheap beer some nights ($3 pints) and 35 cent wings every night that isn't wing night (25 cents on wing night), I have never once had good service. When approached about said bad service, we were treated with worse service, leaving us cancelling any food orders that were to come out to us in fears of having spit in it. That said, the food is a little hit or miss... One time it was pretty good, the other time it was the worst pub fare we have ever had. Burnt and cold... is that even really possible? Apparently, it is.

So after all the events that we have encountered, I would not recommend this place, other than to watch a flames game (which it seams to be over crowded with very little parking) or unluess you enjoy being at a pub with music loud enough to be played in some clubs... or maybe if you particularily enjoy really REALLY bad service... I would suggest some other places close by...

You know the cat and fiddle is on 16 ave and 4 street... although the food is rather lacking there as well, at least you will get some service, usually with a smile.

P.S , If i could rate this place in the negative stars, I would.

Juliet's castle at first glance looks run down from the outside. The doors outside really confuse a person but once you get inside you feel the warm atmosphere. This isn't a redneck bar or anything that might make people feel uncomfortable. Its laid back and you can have a great time playing pool, but what stands out at Juliets is the Foosball tables. I believe they have 3 in total. They have awesome tables and I mean tables. The bathroom is alright too, they rigged up a privacy wall which I like because its just awkward when there isn't one. But I hate the automatic paper dispenser it just doesn't work and just pisses you off. Music on the other hand is a bit to loud for my taste, its like being at a club or concert, but once you get the drinks in you. You won't mind it as much. I dont know how the waitress stay so nice with that music is going. But they do their job awesomely..(is that a word?) Anyways I really liked the waitress, their something to look at! Cause their hot. For food and drinks, we had wings at 25cents but that not the best part it was a Saturday night and we had wings! wicked! I would not suggest suicide hot though, this place is not kidding when they call it suicide, it was so hot it was not enjoyable and I eat hot wings all the time. I only ate 3 that's how hot it was. I also got some lemon pepper and really recommend it. The pitchers was on a special night and it was $10.50 which is super cheap. Long story short we got 3 pitchers between the 2 of us. Recommend this bar to anyone in the Calgary area, its worth the trip even if you way North, East, South, West!
