ould it surprise you if no dish in the venue had a tomato in it? Ironically, what appears to be an Italian restaurant as the resto’s moniker might suggest, is really a contemporary steakhouse where only a few tomatoes are explicitly listed on the menu (in the salads and sandwiches of course). Despite this blatant false advertising, it would be hard to find a Calgary resident who only went to Joey’s for their tomatoes and not their lively patio scene. What could be a better mode of relaxation than sipping on Joeys stiff lemonade in the sun that would destroy anything your childhood lemonade stand offered? If you are into more classy cocktails, the lycheetini is a definite hit with the hipster crowd.

Come-as-you-are-dining meets first class at this destination restaurant. At least, that's what it says on their website. But do they really mean it? Will they serve me in my housecoat and thongs? Will they treat me as well as the man in his casual/business attire? What is a destination restaurant, anyway? Isn't every place you go a destination? That doesn't seem to set it apart from the pack. Perhaps they're looking for a new way to promote themselves.
This is the new promotion slogan for Joeys, brought to you exclusively by martiniboys.com:
"Eat lots of a food and drink lots of alcohol and don't run out on your bill and make sure not to come in your pyjamas. Thanks."

2 Reader Reviews | I apologize for the delay in keeping my agreement to write in about my dining experience as promised to BRAD on Sat., April 5th. Brad was our waiter as, by coincidence, he had been on New Year's Eve. Both times I found him to be attentive, well-informed, eager to do what he could to provide us with a great dining experience. He provided us with samples of the wine were debating about which added to our enjoyment as we were able to sip what tasted best to us. He was attentive without interrupting our conversation; close enough often enough so we could catch him if we had a need to. He gave us enough personal attention so we felt "special" without intruding on our evening. Brad is a delightful young man, does a great job because his heart is in his work.
