I do not recommend this club to anyone. I had a horrible experience just today. I live in Edmonton and my friend is from California and I decided to show him around Calgary during the stampede. I have been to Ilyxor a few times before when visiting Calgary so I decided to take him there. We walked from our hotel to Ilyxor with 40 dollars in our pockets. The cover for each of us was 20 dollars… that would mean we would have to walk home and that was fine because it was only a 15 minute walk from our hotel. We paid the 20 dollars each and walked on in to an almost empty dance floor. We immediately went to the bar and before we were able to even order a drink I knocked into a stool and my sandal strap broke. At this point we had only been in the club for a total of 3 minutes. I picked up my shoe to see what damage was done and realized that the sandal strap had broken in such a way that I would be unable to wear the sandal. My friend and I then walked over to a bar tender and asked if we would get our cover back so we could take a cab home because there would be no way I would be able to walk back to the hotel. He told us to try and ask the front desk. I asked the young lady and she said that they gave no refunds. I was surprised that she showed no empathy towards us, for I had heard that Calgarians are very kind and understanding individuals. We gave a 40 dollar cover charge to use their services and we got no service what so ever. We then asked for the manager. The manager came over and the young lady asked if they gave refunds, without even asking what had happened he said no and started to walk away. My friend then got his attention and started to explain what had happened. The manager was very rude and told us that they give no refunds its policy and he has to follow the policy from upper management. I tried to explain we have no way to get home other then walking barefoot and he again turned to walk away. I was very embarrassed by this for I have always bragged to my American friend about how Canadians are good people who are a genuinely kind and caring group of people. We ended up walking home barefoot from the club, I got a piggy back part way but I’m a tall girl so it wasn’t easy. ANYWAYS i wouldn’t recommend this club to anyone!!!!... There are so many other places that i can guarantee would have empathized with us and at least given us half of the cover back so we could have taken a cab.
