an't afford a time machine but find yourself craving a taste of the '50s? Then this is probably the place for you. Unfortunately, you won't find historically accurate pricing. - D.M.

6 Reader Reviews | this place was over-priced and lackluster. the staff seems uninterested in being there and the seating arrangements are horrid. i got seated in the kitchen...when i asked to be moved got attitude from the waitress.
just another example of Calgar's "awesome" customer service standards...there are none here, we need lessons. the food was OK, but over priced for a diner.

Simple, flavourful, well priced food makes Diner Deluxe a regular spot for us. The ambience is casual and the food offers no frills, but has high quality ingredients that speak for them self. Much of the food seems to be locally sourced, which amplifies its attraction for me. I'm glad we're walking distance.
I've given it four stars, which may seem high for a casual restaurant, but I base my judgement under those pretexts: it's casual, not high end fine dining, and in that category it's the best you can get.

Best burritos in town! I cannot believe I didn't know about this little oasis in Toronto. Great food, excellent ambience so different to other burrito places. Get the mole burrito is a mouthwatering experience.

In a city where it has become increasingly hard to find a restaurant that the food, service and value is good, it is refreshing to know there are jems like Diner Deluxe.
This is by far my favourite restaurant in Calgary. It's kitschy atmosphere reminds me of those great mom & pop joints, that have begun to disappear amongst large chain places, with a modern twist. As a university student, Diner Deluxe is a place I know I can get my money's worth and for my boyfriend who is a Dino's football player the proportions are big enough to keep him full and satisfied.
The staff is really personable and friendly. Also, at Diner Deluxe you have a combination of students, families and seniors. So it is an environment that is not exclusive to a certain age group or social standing, which is so important.
So if you want a taste of nostalgia and a good meal to go along with it that is the place to go. but I must warn you, their bakery is attached and that could be trouble, so you may need to show some real self control!
