re you a young professional (the p.c. term for yuppie) who is tired of the Calgary bar scene? Have you been diligently waiting for something to finally step in and topple suit and tie focused nightlife with something that embraces the cowboy style more appropriate to the Calgary scene. Your prayers will be answered with the opening of the Crazyhorse Saloon. The 5,500 square foot complex will be the rootinest tootinest damn nightspot in town. It will be the only place in Calgary where you can pick up hot young thangs during a non-ironic blast of “Achy Breaky Heart.”
The interior is filled with brick and wood setting off a masculine vibe that will cause every douche in the bar to compete with each other. The upper level will be a relaxing bar/lounge with some dancing areas for pickup artists. Downstairs patrons will find a 3,300 square foot whiskey lounge for drinking a fighting. All of the elements for a successful cowboy bar are in place. The only thing missing are the Sam Elliot look-a-like drunks. But don’t worry. If you build it, they will come.
This project has been under construction for quite sometime thanks the watchful eye of operations manager Dana Hilliker. He will ensure that the Crazyhorse gives the Western loving audiences exactly what they want, while still remaining broad enough in style to attract a young clientele. You may want to dust off that old Texas tie sometime soon. The Crazyhorse will accept nothing less.-P.B.
