Have you ever stopped to wonder why the teenaged mutant ninja turtles loved pizza so much? How was it that they were able to adopt stereotypically Californian attitudes under the sole tutelage of a Japanese rat in the sewers of Manhattan? Surely, there is no greater evidence of McLuhan's Global Village; certainly not when you consider how the turtles' influences really did stem from coast to coast. - D.M.
