The White Nile is okay, but the Blue Nile (aka the Abbay) is where it's at. Blue water isn't just for Smurfs anymore and, similarly, Ethiopian fare is no longer just for backpackers and Ethiopians. Specializing in traditional Ethiopian food, BN serves a dense wat (aka stew) and the accompanying inerja (aka bread) in a laid-back, semi-casual, mother- country- winking atmosphere. Though far from budget, Blue Nile won't break your bank. Sushi and tapas are done, jump on the Ethiopian train - or the more apropos metaphorical boat - before every other foodie beats you to the cred punch. -S.T.

5 Reader Reviews | HORRENDOUS SERVICE!!! Waitress rolled her eyes at us when we dared to ask for napkins. The coffee we ordered twice never came, until after we had asked for the bill. Waitress EXTREMELY rude & snappy, smirking and gave us THE MIDDLE FINGER!! Tried to pay my bill, was told that they did not have any change, so I should go and get my own change from somewhere else if I wanted to pay! Complained about the service, and maybe that was why there were no other customers, and was told "Well, we don't like you, and don't care what you think"
Unbelievable! Food was okay, but I refuse to go somewhere where I will be treated like garbage as a polite, paying customer

most ridiculous service I have ever experienced. The food took 45 min to arrive and we were the only people in the restaurant! Ad they still go the order wrong.

Our family loves ethiopian food and theirs is delicious. The service is VERY laid back. We North Americans are used to rushed/immediate service, and this place is not-so-rushed. Yes, it takes awhile for the food to come. So don't come famished, order your drinks straight away, and be prepared to wait. The food is worth it.

Worst resturant I've ever been to. Horrible atmosphere. Took 20 minutes for the server to serve us and the only drinks they had was cran berry juice and alochol. Then after ordering she told us it would take 45 minutes to come
