wner Mack Hosein opened Bianky’s Bakery and named it after the community in which he grew up in Egypt. But despite this middle-eastern origin, the food is exclusively French. Delicious croissants, mouth-watering pastries, and fresh-baked bread make up the bulk of the bakery’s output. Everything is made daily, in-house using zero preservatives and real butter. The resulting baked goods are so fresh that you’ll feel like a team of moms are tied up doing slave labor in the kitchen. The location also features an eat-in section that offers a variety of scrumptious soups and sandwiches for lunch. The menu is undeniably tasty, but a lunch stop is dangerous, because you’ll inevitably buy a vast stack of baked goods to take home. If you like French pastries and bread, this is probably your best option in Calgary beyond making a quick shopping flight to Paris. –P.B.
