elgium is the new France; well, sort of. Distance yourself from his or her past lovers by eschewing the romantic dinner = French (from France) food ethos for novelty wrapped in a vaguely familiar package. Belgo offers the requisite extensive Belgian beer card, thus sousing you enough to make you funny while opening you up to happily questionable decisions.
The sumptuous fare is still French(ish), but with a splash of Belgian that makes it seem innovative. Located in the heart of Calgary's entertainment district, this is an excellent venue to bring your date, especially if you hope to take them back to chez toi post-nosh. To start off your meals, get the stinky (but delicious) stuff out of wa. This entails the baked brie, escargot, artisanal cheese and olives. For mains, move on to the Steak au Poivre or the traditional Bouillabaisse. Dessert (if you have room) should be none other than the supreme creme brulee or profiteroles. Add a glass of French wine, and you'll have spent more than enough cash to seal the deal.

3 Reader Reviews | Great atosphere..the dishes..not so great.
It was like they ran out of ingredients and scraped the last pieces of what they had left on my plate.
The goat cheese on the salad was as big as the wine cork, or sorry I should say half a wine cork, a full one would have been too generous.
The cheese lay as an unapealling chunk off center, which I had to spread out sparingly on the salad to get the full flavor of how its soppose to taste. The steak wasnt that great either.
I just felt cheated.
