ormerly just a short form for that arterial road in urban city centres, BLVD now takes on a greater meaning among the context of clubbers that frequent Calgary’s after-dark party scene. This supper club is the latest entry into the game of the eating/drinking/dancing trifecta, and locals are welcoming the addition.
Entering BLVD transports you to a time when supper clubs were pure glam and dining with real-life Tony Montana-types was a regular occurrence (sans the white stuff). Back in the day, the upper crust of the club culture exuded a notion of privilege and self-importance by just walking through the doors. Aptly, this new venue captures that same presence by delivering a venue that’s sleek and sexy with the right amount of class. Kudos to the designers on that one.
BLVD’s intimate setting makes a great spot for any occasion (well, maybe not baby showers). Whether it’s an intimate table for two nestled into a micro suede booth, a chance to explore some outrageous tapas on the sizable patio or a Friday night celebration behind the red velvet wall in the VIP room, BLVD is equipped to cater to Calgary’s dining needs.
Arriving slightly famished, it was natural to want to try everything on the menu. Fortunately my party posse was equally starving, which made it an easy decision to order an array of tapas for all to share. On the table first was a creamy Hummus served with ground lamb and toasted foccacio bread for dipping ($12.00). Large mouthwatering Caramel Prawns arrived next dressed in a beautiful sticky caramel sauce and gone in the blink of an eye ($20.00). The Tenderloin Medallions quickly became the table favorite; melt in your mouth tenderloin served atop a perfectly toasted crustini (20.00) is a great way to start any meal off right. A close second was the Golden Beet, Fennel and Pistachio salad tossed in a divine mint vinegar dressing ($12.00). After a quick perusal of the wine and cocktail menu, we decided there was nothing better than a bottle of Lusco Albarino ($59.00) straight from their well-stocked wine cellar to wash everything down.
The tapas portion sizes were perfect and left everyone well fed and thoroughly impressed by the quality of food produced by the kitchen. Although we took the less expensive route by playing sharesies, those that want to celebrate a long week at work with a killer entrée can indulge in a variety of mains starting at $20.00, and work their way up the ladder from there.

14 Reader Reviews | Me and my friends had a chance to BLVD last weekend, what a blast!!!
Not only was the music outstanding, but the service was first class. From our waitress, to the food, to Big Chad working the door. Had an awesome time, looking forwards to going back.

Went there for a birthday party of 15 people. Started dinner around 8 9 in the back lounge, even though there was a bar right there beside us in the same room, the waitress could not get our drinks to us in a timely manner. When dinner was finally served, 3 plates had to be sent back b/c they were cold. This delayed our dinner so by the time we ordered dessert, they cleared the tables and put out the 'bar' tables and told us we can sit there. What a load of crap. We dropped over $1000 and all they care about is getting more $$ from the next group of people....note, the room was EMPTY!!! so cancelled our desert and after dinner drinks. This place is a COMPLETE RIP OFF. I have no problem paying $$ for good food, good service. But this place EXPECTS that people will pay and they can get away with charging that. Sorry but you have to earn the right to charge that, and that means by serving good food, having decent staff to serve it and not having managers that think they know what they are doing. You want a good meal and good service, go to Ceasar's steakhouse or somewhere else - those good quality restaurants have built a good reputation and have every right to charge what they want. By the way $12.50 for a mojito with 1 oz of alcohol is ridiculous.......and don't ever order the falafel shrimp - disgusting, what a terrible combination.

Highly recommend this place. Food was terrific, service was good, and the music excellent. I am totally surprised by those who gave it a negative rating. Maybe just an off day? I've been a number of times and really have no complaints. Oh, and there are a lot of really attractive people there which also helps.

I went there for a Christmas party and it was fun but the seating and service really sucked. I asked our server for a bottle of Canadian beer and both times recieved a bottle of Heiniken. (If there is any resemblance please let me know.) We did leave the bartenders a $500.00 tip becasue that is where we were most of the time. Getting our own drinks. I think over all the service sucks but if you don't order drinks that may leave a big dent in your wallet then you will have a great time.

Over priced and trying to hard to be an upscale las vegas night club. We live in calgary, no one is going to pay those high prices all the time. Goodluck

Finally, got a chance to dine and feel the vibe at this restaurant.
First, of all very impressed with the exterior and the inside is absolutely gorgeous. The food was excellent, and I felt reasonably priced with the other restaurants along 17th avenue. Service was good, and the blueberry somosas was amazing. Great selection of wines!
The music definitley got louder around 11:00pm, to give you that club feel. I feel Calgary is definitely ready for a restaurant like this, its nice to see people with class and I think the buying of tables is a good idea. This will defitely be a place, I will return many more times. I believe this place has the best food in Calgary and amazing VIBE with CLASS!

I love the exterior and the music kicks ass but the service was poor and the table rule is ridiculous. There were 6 hot mama's there sitting down, having a drink and the bouncer asked us to get up as that was reserved for bottle service. There was no one waiting for a table so we got up and danced and not one person sat at that table while we were there. Frustrated, we left. The only time I will ever be back is if there is a big group of people insisting on going there. Booo.

The only good thing about the place was the music.
If you get there before 11 and have a table, you have the potential to lose your table after 11 if someone wants to "purchase" the table you are sitting at. This place wants you to guarantee that you will be spending $300 - $500 before you even get to sit down. Sounds pretty cheezy to me.
Oh and one more thing, if you are sitting at a small table and there is more than two of you, they will tell you you can't sit at that table because it is only for two even though there is bench on the one side. This table is noted to be one of the $300 dollar table. Can 2 people seriously spend $300? Even if you did have dinner, that is still a hell of a lot of drinks.
We were not impressed at all by this place. I think the clientelle they are looking for fall under the catagory of the rich and snobby.
I can't see it lasting. One more thing, there is no where to park.
