One of the most fashion-conscious hotels to hit Toronto of late is Hotel Le Germain. The hotel is 118 rooms of chic luxe. The glass lobby, large and starkly lit, is an urban den, or perhaps ski lodge, of manly earth tones, wood grain and cumaru flooring. Air jets poke through the high ceiling in pure Battlestar Galactica mode. A bold fireplace soars overhead, serving as a divider to the library lounge, complete with laptops and an espresso machine.
Though the notorious rivalry between the Canadiens and Leafs might spark some controversy (the Le Germain hotel group is based in Quebec after all), discerning sports fans alike will appreciate the modern décor and high-tech amenities each room features – perfect for the big game (did I mention this hotel is close to the ACC?). Fortunately the hotel avoids the camp theme, as Ms. Germain assures "there are no white-and-blue bedrooms".
