he industrious people at Torode Realty Advisors Ltd. (Hotel Arts and the Arriva Towers) have embarked upon a new venture: a boutique hotel. They have totally revamped the old Kensington Riverside Inn into a fresh, modern reincarnation of its former self. The new space is inviting, classic, comfortable and accommodating. With only nineteen rooms to house guests in, Kensington is a refreshing shack-up in the midst of Calgary’s otherwise oversized expansion. If you visit often enough they may even get to know your name.

Each of the nineteen rooms is designed differently, but all were set up with the guests’ ultimate comfort in mind. The goal behind the room designs is that the guests will feel as comfortable as if they were at home. Fluffy duvets, bright windows and soft carpets help to put travelers at ease. There are even heated towel racks just to let you know you are at a triple AAA four diamond establishment. Quality lies in the little things.

A brand new restaurant, Chef’s Table, is headed by Chef Theo Yeaman and will be open breakfast, lunch and dinner for guests and the general public alike. Try the elk tourtière for a real treat that’s just offside of the beaten path.
