Holiday Inn is kind of like white rice: hearty and dependable, but ultimately pretty bland. But at least you’ll know what you get, a reasonably big room that’s clean and well kept, but pretty unexciting. But if the hotel doesn’t excite you, the location will. It sits right on the edge of Chinatown, just spitting distance from Little Italy, Soho, Nolita, and Tribeca.
The hotel might not be very multicultural (the Asian touches give away the primary clientele), but the spot right in between all these trendy areas is a veritable melting pot of cultures. Trendy boutiques, cafes, clubs and bars, and hip restaurants are a short walk away. So the best plan if you’re going to stay here is to get a cheap room (none of them are too expensive) and spend most of the time out exploring. All a hotel really needs to provide is a place to sleep, right? Right?
