Here I was all set to write about another example of art deco architecture when, to my delight, I discover that the style of this hotel is actually Mediterranean.
A façade of bright yellow beautifully compliments the blue sky and not-too-distant ocean shore. Rich in Mexican influences from the terra cotta-tiled floors to the timeless Mahogany furniture and luxurious cream walls and bedding, Claridge’s décor is truly classic and elegant. You’re in the lap of luxury here, no matter which of the 42 rooms you stay in. Two penthouse suites offer a rooftop patio surrounding a small outdoor garden and, no doubt, a burst of crisp ocean air.
Guests to the Claridge can dine in the hotel’s elegant Hola Lola Restaurant where the flavors of Mexico, the Mediterranean and the Carribean come together as one delicious union. For a truly succulent meal, try the Lobster Tail served with rosemary potatoes and vegetables or the Blackened Grouper served over roasted garlic mashed potatoes and mango salsa. -L.D
