uring the renaissance, people abandoned hovel lodges in favour of swank hotels affixed to giant leisure domes not far from free-standing phallic symbols. I think (what do you want from me? I'm not a history major).
Attached to the Rogers Centre (nee the Skydome), the Renaissance is near both the waterfront and the entertainment district. Take in a Jays game from your room (several face the field) but, unless you're feeling particularly performative, don't have sex in the window (though, it would not be the first time).
Try a brewery tour at the nearby Steamwhistle Brewery, walk through the theatre district, or go a few blocks north to the city's most important street: Queen.
With the recently revamped Medi-fusion restaurant, Arriba, a close proximity to tourist destinations, and unique and comfortable rooms, the Renaissance is one of Toronto's best tourist lodges. -S.T.
