y friend and I needed a hotel room. It was May long weekend and the pickings were slim. The Courtyard had one left; it had a king-sized bed. King-sized beds are massive. I could lie across one and still not hang off the end.
Before bed, we agreed, "you stay on your side -damn it - and I'll stay on mine." I awoke around dawn, three inches away from my bed-partner's face. "Damn this son of a bitch," I thought, "he has crossed the line." Before waking him for chastisement, I glanced behind me. There was a mile between me and the other end; my mistake. I rolled back to my huge region. Sorry, dude.
The Courtyard Marriott is crisply appointed (I've always wanted to write that), clean, and accommodating. Don't expect fireworks, but do expect reliable quality. -S.T.
