cozy little Mediterranean beach house, Casa Tua caters to an exclusive well-heeled clientele, evident in the attention to detail, every detail in fact. Rose petals float in a large pool at the bottom of the main staircase which leads elegantly up to the second floor bar. Original paintings hang on the walls, and change from month to month. 200-year old Chinese trucks and lamps from the 1950's are just a sampling of the eclectic furnishings at Casa Tua.
Owners Michele and Leticia Grendene have elaborately embellished each of the five suites in their Casa Tua to meld the old world charm of a Mediterranean villa with the luxury and comfort of an exclusive hotel. To make you feel even more at home here, guests are asked to fill out a short questionnaire in order to personalize a basket of Santa de Novella toiletries that come with every room.
You can also choose the grade of sheet you prefer, type of flower and candle scene.
The restaurant at Casa Tua is worth splurging for, even if you decide the 1925 house-turned-hotel, with rooms starting at just under a grand, is a little out of your price range. A members-only club, it is possible to book a room here if you book a lifetime in advance. -L.D.
